The tonal embroidery on the toe is way more subtle in person than I expected, in a good way. The side loops actually make a difference getting these on, and the leather top edge keeps them from rubbing.

I was a little worried the cigar suede would look dull in person, but it's actually really rich. The side loops make them easy to pull on, and I wore them all day without any break-in pain. The leather sole feels solid underfoot, too.

The tonal embroidery on the shaft is way more subtle in person than I feared, just a nice quiet detail against the cigar suede. The side loops actually help too, I can pull them on without sitting down and wrestling.
